Marcus Mosely, originally from small-town Texas, has sung all over North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and the South Pacific, thanks to 10 years of missionary service. Since moving to Vancouver in 1986, he’s performed in Ain’t Misbehavin’, Black and Gold Revue, and Show Boat; and earned a Jessie Richardson nomination for his starring role in his musical gospel creation, It’s Time To Sing.
Six years ago Marcus formed The Sojourners, a roots gospel trio now with two acclaimed CDs to their name. The Sojourners conduct workshops, perform in festivals, and make media appearances across Canada and Europe. Last September, Marcus launched The Marcus Mosely Chorale, a 60-voice community gospel choir.
Marcus believes Gospel music is a major vehicle for emotional and spiritual release and expression. It is about joy and celebration. It opens up one’s heart and mind to unseen possibilities. His goal in directing the Gospel choir is to bring together a company of individuals who come from different backgrounds… different spiritual paths… different cultural experiences and to journey with them in an exploration of those “unseen possibilities”. If this interests you… all he asks is that you come with an open mind ready to sing. Contact Marcus at firstname.lastname@example.org.
