This Sunday, March 10 at 10am – Sunday Worship. Theme: “Watch and Pray”.
This Sunday we start our new Lenten series “Watch and Pray” with an all ages worship and spiritual practice stations. As well, we will start guided Labyrinth walks at 9am on Sunday mornings, followed by coffee in the café.
The season of Lent includes the 40 weekdays and 6 Sundays leading to the celebration of Easter. Historically, it is a time of increased prayer, fasting, education and outreach in the church. For us today, it is an opportunity for self-reflection, outward action and a deeper experience of the path of Jesus. As a Jew, Jesus’ life of prayer was central to his faith. This Lent our “Watch and Pray” theme invites us to explore various kinds of prayer preparing us to enter more fully into the Mystery of Easter. The season begins on Ash Wednesday when we set our intention to turn away from all that gets in the way of living authentically to turn towards all that brings abundant life.

For those people who were not able to attend the Ash Wedneday worship service, there will be an opportunity to receive ashes on the first Sunday of Lent March 10.
