Covid-19 Policy & Procedures

  • No one is to enter the building if they feel unwell, have travelled outside of Canada within the last 14 days, are self-isolating, have had close contact with a person with COVID-19 or show any symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 10 days.
    • Symptoms include: fever, chills, cough or worsening of chronic cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny nose, loss of sense of smell or taste, headache, fatigue, diarrhea, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, muscle aches.
    • While less common, symptoms can also include: stuffy nose, conjunctivitis (pink eye), dizziness, confusion, abdominal pain, skin rashes or discoloration of fingers or toes.

  • The front door of the church will remain locked to the public.

  • All visitors, trades people and volunteers are required to sign the logbook with their name and telephone number. The book is located at the entrance upon entering the church for contact tracing if the need arises.

  • Upon entering the building people must use the hand sanitizer provided. In general, there will be one station for sanitizing and more for larger gatherings.

  • Physical distancing of 2 metres between individuals is to be maintained at all times, if possible.

  • Face masks must be worn at all times. (Thrift Shop volunteers working in this part of the building will be required to wear face masks at all times.)

  • The Kitchen is only to be used by church and pre-school staff, and hands must be washed with soap before and after eating. Surfaces used (tables and counters) must be disinfected after use. There is to be no sharing of food and no self-serve coffee or tea service to groups.

  • Chairs, tables, door handles, light switches, and high traffic areas are to be disinfected each day by designated staff.

  • No more than 8 volunteers will be allowed in the Thrift Shop sorting area at any one time.

  • No more than 50 people will be allowed in this part of the building at one time. Gatherings of more than 10 people will include individual COVID-19 screening upon entry.  People will sit in designated areas only, and seating will be monitored by ushers or staff.  Gatherings of more than 25 people will require registration and the approval of Council.
