Community Health Talk: Somebody That I Used to Know
A free mental health-focused evening reflecting on our past beliefs and actions, with compassion for ourselves and a path toward healing. This event is co-presented by Mount Seymour United Church and Reflector Project.
You may have spent years entrenched in a more conservative Christian mindset prior to adopting the inclusive perspectives of hopeful theology (or a new worldview that’s outside a structured theological framework). Now that you’re on the other side looking back, what do you want to say to your past self about the way you thought, spoke, and acted? What do you want to say to the people you used to know, some of whom may have been impacted by a “you” that no longer resonates with who you now choose to be?
This evening gathering will explore the (potential) dissonance between our past and present selves while inviting participants to practice self-compassion. With that place of safety as a starting point, the concept of rupture (relationship breaking) and repair (relationship restoration) will also be explored as participants may benefit from understanding how they can engage with healing past wounds inflicted on themselves or others.

Crafting Group
Do you have a craft project calling your name – knitting, crocheting, cross-stitch, quilting, needlepoint, or something else creative? Maybe it’s a project you started with great enthusiasm and then… life happened. You’re in good company. Or maybe you usually craft on your own and would enjoy doing it alongside other lovely people.

Coffee & Conversation
On Thursdays at 11am men from the church gather at the Church Cafe and purchase their coffee/lunch/cheesecake and enjoy conversation.
On Saturdays at 9:30am women from the church meet in the Deep Cove Room for coffee and friendship.
Both groups welcome new members and are places of mutual support and encouragement, which is a vital part of our ministry. They are also the longest standing groups at the church!
